Vivienne Westwood launches war/peace t-shirt in support of climate refugees

Launched at the Vivienne Westwood Red Label catwalk show at London Fashion Week, the bespoke mens and womens t-shirts are made using an exemplary low carbon supply chain and have been photographed on a host of famous faces including Naomi Campbell, Gillian Anderson, Mathew Horne, Romola Garai, Roisin Murphy and The Vaccines.

Asking the question ‘How did I create 38 million climate refugees?’, the t-shirts support EJF’s ‘No Place Like Home’ campaign for climate refugees which raises awareness of the plight of people who have been forced from their homes and land due to natural disasters like flooding and storms. Unlike the 10 million refugees recognized by the UN Refugee Agency, these people currently have no legal status or protection. EJF is calling for urgent international action to provide them with legal recognition, assistance and protection.

The t-shirts have a 90% smaller carbon footprint than an average cotton t-shirt and represent how fashion can be part of the solution to climate change. They are organic, ethically- made and manufactured by renewable green energy.
